Stone wool belongs to inorganic fibrous materials. The inorganic fibers are rockwool origin of volcanic rocks,with high heat resistance.The inorganic nature of the mineral wool makes a material with high resistance to fire, which is why some types are grouped in Class A1 fire resistance.In contrast, the polyurethane foam melts easily, so be dangerous in case of fire, firstly because certain types are extremely flammable and on the other hand, because during combustion it produces toxic gases.Furthermore, the flexible form of the mineral wool makes it able to cover convex and cylindrical surfaces.


Fire Resistant

Thanks to the strength of the mineral wool fibers at high temperatures (up to 1000 0C), the mineral wool panels slow down the transmission of heat, prevent the spread of fire and make the shells that make fire resistant.

It is 100% recyclable material, as the return of the producer can be realized and reproduced rockwool in any desired form.
The mineral wool used in the panels is specifically designed for this use, to combine beyond the characteristics of thermal insulation, sound insulation and fire resistance, in addition to high mechanical strength.
It is applied in strip form (lamella), the fibers having vertically relative to the steel surface, ensuring thus optimum inertial characteristics.

In M.o.T. Panels, all of our steel used for the production of rockwool panels is of higher quality of Hot Dip Galvanized S280GD + Z acc. to EN10346 with a minimum zinc coating of 140gr/m² (Z140) for the inner side of the panels and 200gr/m² (Z200) for the outer steel.
